The WE Social Entrepreneurs Initiative is a national program that focuses on young Canadians who are passionate about the environment. The WE program will equip these young people with the tools and skills they need to create profitable social enterprises. We aim to help Canadians launch, scale, and develop social enterprises that are investor-ready and transform them into industry leaders. This year, the WE program will include six Canadian projects. These projects will help address global challenges such as food security, sustainable farming, and economic growth.
Proof That Social Entrepreneurs Really Works
The students in the Social Enterprising course at Mount Royal University created lists of the Top Social Entrepreneurs in Canada. Students were introduced to different social enterprise organizations and thought leaders. Among those on the list are Lourdes Juan and the Leftovers Foundation. Another is Craig Kielburger, who is the founder of Future Ancestors, a consulting and training organization. They will be honoured at the conference in September.
The BDC’s social enterprise platform features various funding opportunities and guidelines. The BDC’s social entrepreneurship platform aims to develop a socially-minded business owner. The guidelines provided by the government are tailored for the age group of 18 to 39. The concept of social entrepreneurship doesn’t have to be a corporation. An entrepreneurial social enterprise can be a sole proprietorship, a partnership, or a cooperative corporation.
